Extensometers
Extensometers are used to accurately measure specimen extension during testing. An extensometer attaches to the test specimen with spring loaded knife edges. Specifications for extensometers include gage length, which is the distance between the knife edges at the start of the test and percent travel during test. Non contacting extensometers are also available.

| EX-3543 |
 |
- 4 inch (100mm) gage length
- Travel: 2 (50mm) or 4 (100mm) inches
- Includes quick attach kit and various knife edges for flat and round specimens
- May be left on through specimen failure. The unit is designed so that the two halves of the extensometer come apart to prevent damage at specimen failure.
- Full bridge, 350 ohm strain gaged design for compatibility with nearly any test system.
- All standard units meet existing ASTM class B-1 and ISO 9513, class 0,5 requirements for accuracy.
- Hardened tool steel knife edges are easily replaced. A spare set comes with every extensometer.
- Excitation: 5 to 10 VDC recommended, 12 VDC or VAC max.
- Output: 2 to 4 mV/V nominal, depending on model
- Linearity: 0.15% of full scale measuring range
