Wedge grips are commonly used for materials such as metals and composites that require high clamping forces during tensile testing. Their self-intensifying design increases gripping force as load is applied, helping ensure the specimen remains securely held throughout the test. ADMET wedge grips are available in a range of configurations, including manual wedge action, pneumatic operation, door-knob tightening, and moving-body wedge designs. Moving-body wedge grips are often recommended when it’s important to minimize compressive loads on the specimen during gripping. For testing in environmental chambers, ADMET wedge grips can also be supplied with pull rods in various lengths to accommodate your setup.
