Wedge grips are used to clamp samples such as metals and composites, which require a high clamping force. The self-intensifying clamping mechanism allows tightening the test specimen in between the wedge grip jaws at high forces. ADMET wedge grips are offered with the manual wedge action mechanism, pneumatic mechanism, a door knob, or with moving-body wedges. Moving-body wedge grips (GW527) should be used to avoid compressive loads on the samples. ADMET wedge grips can be supplied with pull rods of different lengths to be used in environmental chambers.
