For manufacturers of medical devices, meeting stringent quality standards is not just a regulatory requirement but a commitment to patient safety and well-being. A valued customer engaged in the field of Intraocular Lenses was tasked with testing their products according to ISO 11979-3 (Ophthalmic Implants – Intraocular Lenses Part 3: Mechanical Properties and Test Methods). ADMET recently configured our state-of-the-art eXpert 4000 MicroTester to meet the customer’s requirements.

With the eXpert 4000 MicroTester, our customer can now perform the test methods of compression force, axial displacement in compression, and dynamic fatigue durability to determine the mechanical properties of their IOLs. The testing system is capable of measuring forces as low as 20 mg and is supplied with two 8 Megapixel USB microscopes to record IOL specimen behavior and displacements in compression. An environmental bath is integrated on the testing system to provide the capability of elevated temperature testing at 36° C.
From compliance with ISO or ASTM regulations to the meticulous evaluation of mechanical performance, ADMET’s MicroTesters enable medical device manufacturers to ensure their products meet the highest standards of quality. Contact us today if you’d like to know more.
